2009 Bodegas Felix Callejo, Majuelos de Callejo. Ribera del Duero, Spain

100% Tempranillo Seems to have a bit of bottle variation. Last one I had seemed not to be very expressive. Maybe a low level of cork taint?? This bottle, on the other hand is full of life and vigour. Ripe,

2009 El Wanderer “Carinyena”. Catalunya, Spain. 13.5%

Persistent length, ripe fruit. Dried herbs. Slippery mouth feel. A more modern style of Spanish wine. The structure and tannins do not grip you as much as the more traditional styles. Because of this, it can be enjoyed without food.

2009 La Multa Old Vine Garnacha. Calataynd, Spain. 14.5%

Old Vine Grenache. Grenache from Australia can often be overly sweet with minimal structure, this on the other hand is a very different beast. This is a very pleasing wine. Immediately open for business. Expressive, ripe nose. Liquorice, chinotto, earthy
