2013 Castelli Shiraz. Great Southern. 14.3%

Nose of warm liquorice spice with black pepper, blackberry & pencil shavings.

Castelli Shiraz

Full of black fruits with blackberry, cherries along with some black pepper. There’s a delicious note of Pomegrante along with hints of dark chocolate, bay leaf and cedar on the finish. Fine tannins.

Good example of a medium bodied Shiraz.. With each passing day, this opened up to reveal more and more floral / violet characters and after 5 days it was still going strong.

Very good wine.

Source : Sample. RRP $32. Was provided this for #ShirazWeek back in February, where I gave a quick first impression on my facebook page.

Tasted 24th February 2015
