2011 Lancaster 9 Rows Cabernet. Swan Valley, WA. 14.5%

It was world cabernet day & I decided to crack open one from one of my favourite Swan Valley wineries.

Lancaster 9 Rows Cabernet

Lifted mulberry, eucalypt and blackcurrant nose.

Palate. Well structured. Dusty, fine tannins. Dark, bitter chocolate, sweet cassis & blackcurrants. Pomegranate molasses. Brambly, porcini mushrooms and slight earthy overtones. Some bitter herbs and chinotto notes. Slight alcohol heat detracts a bit.

Overall, an enjoyable wine that needs a few more years to settle down. Very promising.

Purchased from cellar door for $30

Tasted 28th August 2014
