2009 Deisen Pete’s Cabernet Sauvignon. Barossa Valley. 15.2%

Deisen Pete’s Cabernet Sauvignon

Rich and ripe plum. Bordering on raisins. Plum and cherry coulis. Heady alcohol. Tarry. Rain hitting hot asphalt road. Nail polish remover. Stewed fruit. Lots of vanilla oak.

“Too much weights, not enough speed work.”

Funny how preferences change. I used to love this style 10+ years ago. Now I find it challenging and a bit too over the top. Interesting to note others around the table are fans of the “Big Barossa Bomb” and they loved this wine…. each to their own.

Purchased from La Vigna for approximately $50

Tasted 15th May 2014

I’ve really enjoyed Sabine’s in the past too – not had one for a while and I suspect I’d possibly find them a touch on the ‘large’ side too.
