A multiregional blend of fruit from 68% Mount Barker and 32% Margaret River.
This has been sitting in the cellar for 3 years.
Deep dark ruby in appearance and still displaying its youth.
Aromas of blackcurrant, chocolates, along with fresh bay leaf, lifted mint, dusty tobacco and some attractive earthy notes.
On the palate, flavours of sweet blackcurrant, plums, star anise, cloves, dark chocolates, cedar and tobacco all woven in with dusty tannins.
Was a bit disjointed when first opened, but largely shakes off with a bit breathing.
Very good wine. Will keep for a few more years, no problem.
Tasted 8th April 2014
Purchased at cellar door for $50 in February 2011.
