2010 Brash Higgins Cabernet Sauvignon. McLaren Vale. 14.5%

In the glass, this wine has a deep purple intensity that looked inviting.

Brash Higgins Cabernet Sauvignon

Aromas of graphite, toasted cigar box, black cherry and hints of vanilla practically jumped out of the glass as I swirled the wine.

On the palate, it is full bodied with flavours of dark fruits, spice, black olives, black cherry, milk chocolate, espresso and graphite like minerality. There is good balance to this generous, powerful wine along with nice dusty tannins and long, satisfying finish.

A very good mouth filling wine that went very nicely with a lamb roast.

Purchased directly from the winery for $37

Tasted 9th February 2014
