The Appellation of Côtes de Duras is in the South West of France.
A blend of 40% Semillon, 30% Sauvignon Blanc, 20% Chenin Blanc & 10% Muscadelle that underwent a wild ferment and spent 12 months in concrete tanks before lightly filtered and bottled.
Sitting outside on a warm Perth evening, as I sip on this wine.
Lemony in colour. Nose of grapefruits, apricots & peaches. My daughter just made a honey and lemon drink and this reminds me of it. She laughs at me when I say my wine is a bit like her drink. Best described as grapefruits, lemon essence and a touch of honeysuckle. Slatey, wet pebbles accompany the dry finish. Moderate length. Some nettles and dried herbs in there as well.
Charming wine and recommended.
