Frappato is the grape variety here.
Bright, sour cherries. Lifted aromas. Strawberries and Strawberry leaf. Grating of cinnamon spice. Juicy and fresh. Light, but very mouth filling. Has a certain earthy backnote. Lively acidity. Some orange zest as well.
Intriguing, short squat bottle. Like the look, but plays havoc with trying to fit into the cellar rack.
A light bodied, refreshing red wine.
I really like this, but drink with an open mind.
Sourced from The Re-Store in Leederville. $42
Tasted 15th August 2013

Thanks PWE, I’ve been waiting for you to do this write-up. After recently trying and blogging about their Cerasuolo di Vittoria the 100% Frappato has me intrigued as does the winery itself. Like the Cerasuolo di Vittoria the Frappato sounds made for food, maybe even something tangy and lightly spiced. I will have to find me some. Cheers!
Pleasure Conrad. Agree with your comments. Just wish the whole range was easier to find. This winery really intrigues me.
Sounds delicious PWE! Perhaps we can get a bottle for a Wine Century meet?
…… Already have one in the cellar waiting
Perfect 🙂
