2010 Chateau Simone. Grand Cru de Provence. Appellation Palette Controlle. 13.5%

Chateau Simone Blanc 1   Chateau Simone Blanc 2

A white wine made from 80% Clairette, 10% Grenache Blanc, 6% Ugni Blanc, 2% Bourboulenc & 2% Muscat Blanc. Certainly sounds interesting. The Palette Appellation is not far from Aix en Provence and Bandol in France.

A very intense wine that delivers much more in the mouth than on the nose.

Wonderful acidity that helps frame its flavours of nutmeg, cashew, background of citrus flavours and a hint of ginger. Nutty, toasted almond flavours are in there as well.

Intense, vibrant, wonderful wine.

Tastes like it’s been bathed in sunlight.

Wow. What an experience. Love this. Can’t wait to try the Rosé from the same producer.

Tasted 11th July 2013

Approximately $85 from Steves Fine Wine and Food.
