Hatten Wines Rose. Sanur, Bali. 11%

Hatten Wines Rose
No vintage noted on the label. Made from Alphonse Lavallee grapes grown on the North coast of Bali.

Not an overtly complex wine.

Is it refreshing after a hot day in Bali’s sun? Yes.

Does it offer a great alternative to overpriced, nasty, sulphur packed wines available at 2-3 times the price up here? Absolutely.

Good match for spicy local cuisine? Yep.

Not much aroma. Tastes of strawberries with a kiss of ginger, lemongrass and rambutans. Slight bit of residual sugar and a good acid backbone.

Great example of a local wine made to match its’ cuisine and climate. I am very happy to drink this while in Bali.

Available at most liquor outlets in Bali. Approx $13. Bargain!
