Artisan and Cape Discovery wines in Bali.

What do these wines have in common?

Fruit comes from Western Australia, shipped as fruit, then made into wine in Bali. Available in Bali only. Great way to avoid the high taxes there.

All just under $20 each in the bottle shop and around $40 on most restaurant lists.

Relatively cheap when you see the prices of everything else. Most wines of equal quality are around double the price.

Taste wise?

The Cape Discovery range from Margaret river fruit is very serviceable. Sauvignon Blanc is fresh, zesty and tropical. Chardonnay is a dead ringer for quality Margaret River chards. Peachy, nectarines and zesty ginger. My pick of the quartet pictured. Both wines have a touch of residual sugar to match the Bali cuisine.

    Hi PWE,
My wife and I are going to Bali in June 2016. My wife is a white wine drinker, particularly Margaret River wines. What local wines would you recommend ?
