2009 Kusuda Syrah. Martinborough, NZ. 14.5%

Kusuda Syrah 1

A dinner guest brought this over the other night. Was very happy to see this pulled out. The wines of Kusuda are ultra rare and even harder to find in Australia.

Spicy, hints of cloves with a background of bacon. Lashings of violets and plums.

Sings of purity and has a vibrant energy about it. Everything is in perfect balance.

Grows in depth the longer it sits in the decanter.

An elegant, pretty wine with huge potential. This won’t be ready for at least 5 years.

Highly recommended.

From memory, this sits around the $100 mark.
