Purstner Restaurant, Vienna.

Purstner Restaurant, Vienna. 23rd December 2012

Another rustic Austrian restaurant complete with stuffed animals hanging from the wall.

Looked like a hunters pub. Cozy, warm and happy atmosphere. Good friendly service.

I ordered the roast pork with this giant round dumpling. Mrs PWE ordered the goulash. Both dishes were really tasty. Pork was tender, dumping was heavy but balanced out the rich gravy. Goulash was wonderful and tender. Huge serves that I just could not finish. Prices were very affordable.

Had this wine to accompany.

2011 Weingut Holzapfel achlelton Gruner Veltliner. Wachau. Austria. 12.5%

Spicy, apples. Talc, salts, lavender. Good zingy acid.

Bit of cheesy, leesy texture.

Good. Worked well with the roast pork.

Happy with this. About $40
