2011 Seifried St. Laurent. Austria. 13%.

Found this in the Christmas markets set up outside the Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna.

St. Laurent is a local red grape variety.

Very Pinot like.

Turkish delight aromas, slight spice, cinnamon.

Reminds me of the heady aromas that permeate the air around the punch / gluhwein stands that are seen everywhere here.

The wine was okay, but packed a huge sulphuric acid punch. Ouch!

Approx $15

Tasted 22nd December 2012
