2010 Benanti Biancodicaselle Bianco. Etna, Sicily, Italy. 12.5%

IMG_1049

This white wine is 100% Carricante grape that is indigenous to Sicily

Had this with flash fried cuttlefish and it’s a good match.

The 2010 is not as developed, golden or honeysuckled as the ’08 I enjoyed earlier in the year.

Crisp wine with hints of lemon myrtle and overtones of bitter almond.

Refreshing, complex and thoroughly enjoyable.

Needs a few years to develop its nectar.

Approx $40 from Boccaccio

Tasted 30th November 2012
