2006 Castagna La Chiave Sangiovese. Beechworth, VIC. 13.5%

Has a very high toned aroma.

Sour cherries and plums and a small amount of Italian herbs.

Very fresh acids.

This has good structure that fills the mouth well.

A sound, well made wine that does not seem to have much soul.

Seemed too “clean” & less earthy when compared to Italian Sangiovese.

For the price, I was expecting more.

$75 direct from winery

Tasted 5th December 2012
