2012 Petaluma Hanlin Hill Riesling. Clare Valley. 13%

Dry. Powdery, spicy lemon zest. Moderate length. Good, but not great.

Seems a bit one dimensional to me.

2011 Spinifex “Lola”. Barossa Valley. 11.5%

Unusual blend of Ungi Blanc 52%, Semillon 32%, Marsanne 8%, Viognier 8%.

This is a far more exciting and interesting wine. Lovely combination of grapes.

A very Asian tropical tasting wine. Ginger, lime, mangosteen and hints of dried pineapple.

On the palate this is more broad than linear. Happy to drink this any day.

Both wines were brought by house guests on 1st October 2012
