2010 Ipso Facto Chenin. Margaret River. 12.5%

Don’t presume that this is just another mass produced, sweet Chenin from “down south”.

Simply put, this is serious Chenin. Made properly.

Nashi pears, starfruits and a small hint of ginger in there, crisp, tangy with a zesty bite. Mouth watering acidity on the finish. Tasty and refreshing.

The wine is whole bunch pressed, allowed to wild ferment in barrel and lees stirred. It sees 9 months in French oak as well.

Approx $32 at Steve’s Fine Wine and Food

Tasted on 6th September 2012
